Our Hospital

Our hospital first opened its doors on September 12, 2005.  The 6500 square foot facility offers a variety of services for small animals, mainly focused on dogs and cats.  We have 8 full-time and 1 part-time doctor with over 75 years combined experience.  As well there are over 45 support workers, 12 of which are animal health technicians.

When you and your pet come to see us, you are greeted with a warm and friendly reception area with plenty of natural light and a gas fireplace.  While waiting for your appointment there is client education displays and numerous animal related magazines.

Behind the scenes Northwestern Veterinary Hospital offers separate cat and dog wards for our patients.  We have a surgery room with a radiant heat flooring recovery area for your pet’s comfort.  A dental and physiotherapy room are also available to service your pet’s oral and post-joint surgery needs.  We have an on site x-ray facility and also offer ultrasound services.  Our treatment area is open concept with multiple work tables to accommodate your pet’s needs at the time of your office visit. 

We also offer an intensive care unit with large windows for close monitoring and more comfortable atmosphere to ill patients.

Our hospital likes to give back to our clients by offering different programs throughout the year for their enjoyment.  Some programs include pet first aid nights, “Chub club”, and talks on such topics as poisonous plants.
