Dr. Sue Bjerkelund
|
Dr. Sue Bjerkelund completed her BSc (Biology) in 1987 from the University of New Brunswick, and her DVM from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 1992. Since then, she has been part of our team. Sue enjoys many dog sports but has a passion for Agility!
Dr. Bjerkelund recently has become a Certified Animal Chiropractor. For more information, click here.

Dr. Alec Smith
|
After eight years of university training, Dr. Alec Smith obtained his DVM degree in 2003 from the University of Guelph. He also holds a BSc from Lakehead University. His special interests include orthopedics, cardiology, and surgery. In his time off Dr.Smith enjoys sailing, skiing and other outdoor activities.

Dr. Diane Maki
|
Dr. Maki is a graduate of the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College. She has practiced full time since graduating in 1976.
She enjoys the many clients she has met over the years, and looks forward to thier visits. Whether it is at annual exams or in times of need.
Dr. Maki's interests in veterinary medicine lie in soft tissue surgery, opthomology and dermatology.
Dr. Maki spends most of her time on her small hobby horse breeding farm. She enjoys the daily physical time spent outside landscaping the land, learning the art of dressage, and community work for the Agriplex.

Dr. Brad Sullivan
|
Dr.Brad Sullivan was born and raised in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. He attended the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, PEI, where he graduated in 1999 and joined our clinic that year. Dr.Sullivan has a special interest in geriatric medicine and soft tissue surgery. He has a dog named Jocko and a cat named Gus. In his spare time Dr.Sullivan enjoys golfing, fishing, and hiking.

Dr. Jack Hansen
|
Dr.Hansen was born and raised in rural Thunder Bay. He graduated from the University of Guelph in 1979 with a BSC and DVM. He returned to Thunder Bay where he has since lived and practiced. Dr.Hansen carries a special interest in orthopaedic surgery and also appreciates meeting clients and discussing their pets health concerns.
On his free time Dr.Hansen operates a farm where he breeds and shows Simmental Cattle and Clydesdale Horses.
He especially enjoys working the cattle with his Quarter Horse, Doc and his Australian Shepherds, Asti and Vicki (his newest edition).

Dr. Bob Josephi
|
Dr.Bob Josephi obtained his Bachelor of Science from Saint Mary's University in 1980. He graduated with his DVM degree from the University of Guelph in 1986. He has practised in Thunder Bay his entire career and enjoys all facets of veterinary medicine.
He is an avid cross country skier, cyclist and canoeist.

Dr.Kathryn Goth
|
Dr.Kathryn Goth completed her HBSc in Biology at Lakehead University in 2000 followed by the DVM program at the University of Guelph from 2000-2004. She practiced small animal veterinary medicine in the Guelph and Cambridge area for 2 years prior to moving back to her hometown of Thunder Bay. Dr.Goth appreciates all aspects of veterinary medicine and enjoys meeting clients and new pets.
Dr.Goth is an outdoor enthusiast and in her spare time enjoys camping, canoeing, hiking and traveling.

Dr.Tracy Audet
|
Dr.Tracy Audet completed her DVM at the University of Guelph in 2003-2007. She joined our team in May 2007.
Dr. Audet is currently performing ultrasounds for our reffering patients.

Dr. Leah Westrup
|
Dr. Leah Westrup graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Since graduation, she practiced as a veterinarian in Duluth, MN.
Since April of 2009, Dr. Westrup has joined our team here at Northwesten Hospital. Dr. Westrup enjoys the variety of aspects that veterinary medicine has to offer.
In her spare time, she loves to be outdoors, particularly hiking with her dog Picabo and Beacon.
